"He asked me out, do you want to go?" I said through the cell phone receiver. "Who asked you out?" Anna asked, inquisitively. "One of John's friends, you know, the one with blue eyes." She sat on the other end of the phone for a few moments thinking; running through the rolodex implanted in her brain. "Oh, you mean Alex? I don't know if I would go out with him" she said. "Why not?" came to mind but I waited on her to finish her sentence. "He's well known around town if you catch my drift." "No, I don't catch your drift…you must have gotten stuck on a sand bar." Anna sighed, "God, never mind, you two are perfect for each other. You are both sarcastic as hell." And with that she hung up the phone. Feeling defeated, I text messaged her back, "So is that a yes you'll go?" I sat the phone down on the rot iron table I got from the antique store. Opened the glass doors and sat on the balcony. I noted that my plants needed to be watered as the table vibrated.
